When to use primary care

Flexible scheduling and an easy-to-use site mean you can see a doctor in days instead of weeks or months, including same-day availability where it's part of your benefits. Use primary care when:

  • You don't currently have a primary care doctor but want one.
  • You can't get an in-person checkup for weeks or months.
  • You want care from the safety and comfort of home.
  • You want a quicker, more convenient way to connect with your doctor.
  • You need a doctor who moves with you.
  • Your regular doctor isn't available, or you can't get an appointment that works for you.

For your convenience, we can share your appointment records with your local primary care doctor upon request.

What type of care is best for you?

Wellness screenings and routine care serve different needs — here's what to expect from each.

Wellness screenings

  • Your doctor helps identify potential health issues.
  • You'll discuss ways to improve your health based on your lifestyle and lab results.
  • Your doctor recommends preventive screenings and follow-up care, including specialist referrals if necessary.
  • Prescriptions aren't available during a wellness screening.

Routine & chronic condition care

  • Schedule appointments with your doctor to manage ongoing conditions.
  • Your doctor can provide specialist referrals and order prescriptions, lab work and imaging scans when appropriate.
Health Coaching

As part of routine care, your doctor may assign a digital health coaching program if you need help managing a chronic condition. The app supports your goals with personalized advice, vitals tracking and alerts, and medication and activity reminders — and lets you share progress with your doctor between appointments. If your condition doesn't qualify for coaching, you can still track biometrics like weight, blood pressure and blood glucose in your patient portal.
